Highway Performance Visualization

Situation: DOTs are challenged to visually communicate how good their transportation systems are. Frank wrote a synthesis statement that was accepted and funded to see how all the states used visualization.

Obstacle: Frank was selected from 21 professionals across the country who bid to conduct the research.

Action: The synthesis showed how states tell their performance story with visualizations that resonate with their audience.

Result: The publication was the most downloaded Transportation Research Board document the month it was published in July 2022.
