Resilience Business Case

Situation: Making the business case for resilience is a critical yet not well-established process for DOTs.
Obstacle: Resilience is difficult to define. Investments in resilience are not often politically beneficial to the officials who have to prioritize funding.
Action: Resilience and security in the DOT leadership sense require ongoing effort and represent more a way of thinking than the application of a specific tool or technique.
Result: This poster summarizes a new way of thinking, highlighting the perceived cost to the cost of failure in a 3 stage process.
